Educator Programs reflect the Museum’s deep commitment to educators of all disciplines. We know that teachers are at the center of education and acknowledge that their work has profound effects on the lives and learning of students. To support and deepen educators’ teaching practice, we design interdisciplinary programs to help educators integrate art and artists of African descent into their curricula, and develop innovative teaching strategies. Through inHarlem, our educator programs will take the form of collaborations between the Studio Museum and our community partners in and around Harlem.
Teaching and Learning Workshops offer educators of all disciplines professional development opportunities that focus on creative ways to integrate art and artists of African descent into the classroom. The Studio Museum collaborates with partner institutions and schools to build professional development sessions that are tailored to meet the needs of teachers and program coordinators.
