Up until I was six years old, Myclette and Andria were my next-door neighbors—two sisters roughly the same ages as my older sister and me.

I hold deep-set images of ranging with them over the vast kingdom of our block, exploring the wilds of our Houston subdivision. Knowing now that our realm actually consisted of a path to the local pool and the untamable honeysuckle bushes in front of the sisters’ house does almost nothing to diminish the wonder in those memories. In Si Ou Ta Dwe Bliye Wout Lakay Ou (Lè Tout Limyè Yo Etenn), two young girls embark into the wilderness around them, moving toward a sharp corner that will inevitably change the trajectory of their adventure. The photograph conjures all the adventure of going around the corner with Myclette and Andria.
