Refracted Light: Artists Respond to Tom Lloyd
12:00–5:00 pm, 3rd Floor
At brief intervals throughout the day, experience artistic responses to Tom Lloyd’s experimental light sculptures. Occurring at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:15 pm, and 4:15 pm, these activations bring the sculptures and invited musicians and performers into collaborative exchanges. Artists working with instruments and sound respond to both the gallery and Lloyd’s works, creating encounters between light, space, and sound.
Please note, capacity is limited. Visitors are invited to experience the activations while moving through the gallery. Seating will not be provided.
On Visibility
5:30–7 pm, The Stoop
Join us for a discussion exploring the reverberations of Tom Lloyd’s practice across disciplines and the artist’s advocacy for artists of color with the Arts Workers' Coalition, the Store Front Museum, and more. Emily Verla Bovino, Habiba Hopson, and Krista Thompson join Curator Connie H. Choi for this conversation on Lloyd’s search for visibility beyond the presence of light.
Free with Museum admission. Capacity is limited. ASL interpretation will be provided.
