A Celebration of Tom Lloyd

On the closing weekend of Tom Lloyd, one of our inaugural exhibitions, we hosted a day of public programs responding to Lloyd’s experimental light sculptures.

The program was conceived as a translation of Lloyd’s vision for his work: to be activated by music, costumes, and performers. As participating artist Nikita Gale said, “I was interested in trying to orchestrate a scenario where deep observation was the mode for creating and receiving the performance. There was a desire for the gallery to feel like a living laboratory where we were filtering Lloyd’s works through our own practices.” Other program participants included Emily Verla Bovino, Connie H. Choi, Nikita Gale, Habiba Hopson, Matthew Jamal, L’Rain, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, and Krista Thompson.
