Looking for a chill space to meet new friends, make art, and explore creative ideas? Welcome to the Studio Museum’s new Teen Studio—a free, monthly drop-in art-making program designed for teens ages 14-18! At Teen Studio, participants build community, learn collaboratively, and create together through projects centered on art and artists of African descent. Teens connect with contemporary artists, experiment with a variety of art materials, and produce works inspired by themes and pieces from the Studio Museum’s exhibitions and permanent collection.
For April’s Teen Studio, participants will create architectural collages inspired by Untitled, 1972 by Romare Bearden. No prior art experience is required—and we’ve got you covered with subway fare, snacks, and supplies!
