Over the year ahead, we’ll highlight some career paths within museums through four different programs. This upcoming session on December 4, 2026 will look at a career in Education. There will be a presentation by a member of the Studio Museum Learning & Engagement Department, followed by a workshop that will explore how our educational programs seek to create entry points and promote broader accessibility for engaging with art.

Program participants will gain insights into what an early career path to museum education work looks like, day-to-day responsibilities, and advice for getting started in the field. Next Up is the Studio Museum in Harlem’s very own career day. The program will provide insight into the Studio Museum Institute, a suite of programs that reflects the Museum's vision and commitment to training and mentoring leaders in the art world from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Next Up is designed for early-career professionals and students interested in exploring diverse career opportunities within the museum industry.
