Over the year ahead, we’ll highlight some career paths within museums through four different programs. This upcoming session on September 25, 2026 will look at a career in curatorial. There will be a presentation by a member of the Studio Museum Curatorial Department, followed by a workshop that will explore how curating is a practice of care and interpretation.

Program participants will gain insights into what an early career path to curatorial work will look like, day-to-day responsibilities, and advice for getting started in the field. Next Up is the Studio Museum in Harlem’s very own career day. The program will provide insight into the Studio Museum Institute, a suite of programs that reflects the Museum's vision and commitment to training and mentoring leaders in the art world from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
