Come to Lil' Studio and make your favorite animal come to life!
We'll begin by looking an etching called Standing Horse by Gwendolyn C. Knight and observing her horse's shape and texture. Next, we'll practice layering various colors of oil pastels on our paper.
We'll think about our favorite animal and use stencils and stylus tools to scratch the shape and texture of those animals. We'll conclude by singing songs and reading One day in the eucalyptus, eucalyptus tree by Daniel Bernstrom. Join us for a joyful session of art, music, reading and play!
Parents, caregivers, and organizations servicing little ones under five years old are invited to the NYPL Harlem Library to enjoy art making and other activities that encourage creative time and bonding.
Lil' Studio is designed to explore innovative ways to work in the community while taking the Museum beyond its own walls. Lil' Studio is free. Click here for accessibility information at NYPL Harlem Library. For more information, or for accommodation, email [email protected].
