While an AIR, Woolfalk introduced us to No Place, an ongoing pseudoethnographic project that investigates anthropological practices through the use of sculpture, video, painting, installation, and performance. With fantasy as the starting place for this rainbow-colored conceptual body of work, her world generates a multitude of possibilities: videos that become “documentaries,” sculptures that are “artifacts,” and drawings that present utopian ideals. Woolfalk’s practice creates an “Otherness” that suggests that there is nothing absolute in regard to cultural definitions.
