College Student Internships
The Studio Museum in Harlem (SMH) offers full-time and part-time internships during both the summer and academic year. The Museum is seeking the following: B.A.- or M.A.-level students and recent graduates in Art/Art History, Africana Studies, American Studies, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Arts Education and/or related fields for internships in: Curatorial, Education & Public Programs, Public Relations, Registration/Art Handling, Technology, and Development. SMH offers unpaid internships, in which students may be eligible to earn college credit.
High School Student Internships
The Studio Museum in Harlem offers unpaid semester, year-long, and summer internships to High School students in New York City. This professional development program for teens introduces youth to museums, the arts, and a professional environment. Students are teamed with staff members in various departments according to their interests and skills. High School interns will be trained to: conduct research on artists and organizations; assist educators during family and youth programs; help with the implementation of events; handle administrative duties; complete a final project that connects the students’ interests with their Museum experience
