College Internships

The Studio Museum in Harlem offers paid internships during both the summer and academic year. The Museum’s Internship Program provides students with a wide range of experiences designed to provide insight into the daily workings of a professional museum environment. Additionally, interns engage in a series of workshops, meetings, offsite visits and public programs.

Summer 2010 Internships

The Studio Museum in Harlem is pleased to participate in ARTS INTERN, a summer internship opportunity for college students interested in learning more about careers in museums and cultural institutions. This program is open to undergraduate students who live or go to college in New York City, and who can demonstrate a specific level of financial need. High School Internships

The Studio Museum in Harlem offers unpaid semester and summer internships to High School students in New York City. This professional development program for teens introduces youth to museums, the arts, and a professional environment. Students are teamed with staff members in various departments according to their interests and skills.

Spring 2010 Internship

Length: 10 weeks
Required commitment: Minimum 20 hours/week
Stipend: No stipend available
Dates of Winter term: March 10-May 14, 2010
Application Deadline: January 15, 2010. Applicants will be notified of final placements by February 1st.

Deadlines

Please note that the deadline date refers to the date by which applications must be postmarked. Application deadlines are fixed, no exceptions. The Studio Museum will not review applications submitted after the deadline, or incomplete applications. You may send application materials separately, though complete application packages are preferred. You will only receive a confirmation email when we receive all application materials, postmarked by the deadline.
