The Artist's Voice: Richard Hunt

In this edition of The Artist's Voice, renowned contemporary artist Richard Hunt and Dr. Courtney J. Martin, Director of the Yale Center for British Art (then Assistant Professor of History of Art and Architecture at Brown University), discussed Hunt's pioneering contributions to the field of abstract art.

Presented on the occasion of the Studio Museum's 2016 exhibition Richard Hunt: Framed and Extended, the conversation explored the evolution of Hunt's practice and distinct approach to sculpture as a form of three-dimensional drawing. The program also explores moments of overlap in the careers of Hunt and Alma Thomas and recounts milestone moments in the canon of art history. A Q&A segment followed the conversation.
